## Every manure is different

Manure differs from farm to farm and even from pit to pit. Its composition depends on the feed, the animals and how the manure has been stored. An analysis shows you what your own manure contains.

This way you can apply manure more precisely and you have to estimate less. That is good for your crop and for your wallet.

## What the laboratory measures

These are the values most often requested in a manure analysis:

- **Nitrogen**: Total and readily available
- **Phosphate**: Important for your phosphate allowance
- **Potassium**: For grassland and crops
- **Dry matter**: How thick or thin the manure is
- **Organic matter**: For soil life

## How we take the sample

1. **Arrange a time**: We arrange a time. For a good sample, the manure must first be thoroughly mixed.
2. **Mixing the manure**: Once the pit has been mixed, the sample is a good reflection of the whole pit.
3. **Taking the sample**: We take manure at several moments or locations and use it to fill the sample pot.
4. **To the laboratory**: The sample goes to the laboratory as quickly as possible.

## Samples when manure is removed

If you have manure removed, the haulier takes a sample during loading. Separate legal rules apply to this.
